Dental Crowns (Same Day CEREC)

Dental Crowns (Same Day CEREC)

What are Same Day CEREC Crowns?

CEREC crowns are done in just one day, which eliminates the need for a second appointment. These crowns are incredibly durable and can last just as long as traditional dental crowns. Crowns are often used to cover teeth that are damaged or compromised. They can last for years or even decades before replacement is needed.

Why would Same Day CEREC Crowns be needed?

You might need a dental crown if your tooth has broken or cracked. We might recommend this restoration if you have severe decay or a lot of filling material in a tooth. If you’ve recently had a root canal performed, we will advise you to have the tooth covered with a crown. Root canaled teeth are often more susceptible to cracking and breaking.

Who is a candidate for Same Day CEREC Crowns?

Most of our patients can benefit from our same-day CEREC technology when having a dental crown made and placed. We will examine your teeth to determine if you might need a new crown. If you have an older crown that needs to be replaced, we can easily remove it and replace it with one of our CEREC crowns. A dental crown can be placed on virtually any tooth within the mouth.

What happens during the procedure for Same Day CEREC Crowns?

We first administer a local anesthetic to help numb the area. We then file down the damaged tooth to make room for the crown. Digital impressions are then taken and used to create the CEREC crown. This impression is then placed into our CEREC machine and the crown is made just for you while you wait in the office. Once the crown has been created, we’ll permanently place it over the tooth. This eliminates the need for two appointments, and you can leave the office with the permanent crown firmly in place.
