Porcelain Veneers
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are a simple, yet effective way of transforming your smile. Rather than have invasive treatment to correct minor and major flaws on your front teeth, porcelain veneers can be used to essentially cover them. By covering the flaws, you’re left with a beautiful, full smile that is going to provide you with resilient durability. Most veneers can last for 10 or more years, and they stay in place without the risk of falling out.
Why would Porcelain Veneers be necessary?
Veneers can be a great way to achieve an instant boost to your confident. Your teeth will look bright, white and healthy. Some of the different flaws that these veneers can cover include:
- Discoloration
- Stains
- Chips
- Cracks
- Spaces and large gaps
Who is a candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
In order for veneers to adhere to your front teeth, your smile needs to be healthy and strong. We will examine your teeth to determine if veneers are the right choice for you. Most often, veneers are better suited to our adult patients looking for a drastic cosmetic change. Your veneers will need to be replaced after about 10 years or as they show signs of wear.
What happens during the Porcelain Veneer procedure?
We will begin the process by filing down the front teeth slightly. This will help the new veneers to adhere perfectly to your existing smile. Impressions, or molds, are then taken and used to craft new porcelain veneers just for you. Your second visit into our office will involve placing these veneers. This procedure takes some time, since we want to make sure that every veneer is placed perfectly. You’ll then get to see your brand new smile before leaving the office. Your veneers can be brushed and flossed normally, or as you would any of your other natural teeth. Try not to bite directly into hard objects, like pens or ice, and avoid using your front teeth to tear into bags and packages.
